Reactivate

I'm leaving for a course in Information Design, for the next 2.5 Years...
Yes, a big change in my profession...  But, it's for the best...

I believe there will be a lot of Inspirations, Articles/Examples of good Design that will continue to motivate and educate me... But I failed to archive these past Design-experiences, resulting in, maybe losing it forever..

Being the organized and data driven freak that I am... I'm gonna start re-posting interesting articles that I come across... To forever admire such examples..

There are 2 interesting past-reads, which I can think of, right now. The posts by C.Y Gopinath (here) on Smashing Magazine.

The first post talks about his in-depth research talking about how the num-pad are arranged on Calculators and Telephones. And his argument as to why it needs a redesign.

The other one gives a deep insight into his personal experiences about how Design evolved during the 1980s. Whilst mainly talking about the art of Layout and Composition followed in the Newspapers, at the time. It also adds as to how our Professions are constantly at risk and new Jobs are quickly emerging. A very interesting read indeed.

Also, Airtel Open Network (here) AD was playing today. I was skeptical as I felt that this was a move by the Telecommunication Giant to confuse the masses, for a while.

But, the page in itself is a good example of Info-Design. Select your city, find out if Airtel towers are close to you and get their operating status. A quick way to find the cause for those frustrating signal loss. Only hiccup I faced was on the UI-end, where a frustrating violet screen-over appears on the map.
