Typography & Printing

Making a few notes on the types of Printing.

There are 2  types of Printing: Intaglio & Relief.

Intaglio is when the required print work is cut as a groove on the printing surface.
It includes: Engraving, Etching, Aquatint

Relief is when the remaining un-needed section of the printing surface is shaved away.
It includes: Woodcutting.

Some other types:
Lithography is based on the principle that water and grease repel each other.
Screen-printing includes a screen (duh) that has gum-raisin applied to the non-reqd surface and then placed above paper. Ink is applied on the other end.
